I dropped Comcast and am now running with Speakeasy DSL.
Let me know if things appear to be slow or otherwise not right.
Cancelling the service with Comcast was interesting: I got read a litany of Things that Could Be Done to Make It Right, none of which were forthcoming until today.
They never asked me what I would have liked, and my answer might have surprised them. I would have liked a lower bill, even if it meant lower data rates. 1 Mbit is enough for most people, even people like me who host a (very) web presence. 6 Mbits is overkill, and as far as I can tell, I have never gotten close to filling that pipe. I have topped 1.5 Mbits recently, but if it was constrained to 1 (or 768, to allow for overhead), it would hardly have mattered.
