eBay adventures

I bought a used film scanner on eBay a month or so ago. The seller’s refund policy was 7 days, and I didn’t have the right cabling to test it, so I missed out on that. So I decided to re-sell it and keep looking. It sold for less than I paid for it.

Come to find out the new buyer doesn’t like it. I’m not sure what he expected for $76 — these sell for upwards of $200 if they’re claimed as working and complete and I made no such claims — but anyway, even though the unit was sold as-is,

I offered a refund to be paid when I got confirmation of shipment (ie, a tracking number). He could ship me a brick or his dirty laundry and I would be out the full refund, but I decided to take a good-faith approach.

So far, nothing. I figure I’ll give it a week and then tell him no deal: it’s been almost that long now, and if he was that unhappy/wanted his money back, I can’t imagine why it’s taking so long. You can print a label online, for cryin’ in a bucket.

I was hoping to preserve my 100% feedback score, but judging by the comments left in his (97%), perhaps I should be more careful in future.
