Pareto Nic Tideman: The Ethics of Coercion in Public Finance
The Pareto criterion is closely connected to
Conservatism. It declares that there is no way to judge
whether one initial allocation is better than another,
while any action that benefits at least one person and
makes no one worse off (How would we know?) is undeniably
good. This implicitly puts questions of the justice of
the initial situation beyond consideration. Unless the
