I was lucky enough to get in on Google Analytics (née Urchin) before the registration for testers filled up. I have been running it for a couple of week and every now and again I take a look. (NB: it works in Safari if you resize the text and force the page to render once again after loading. Hat tip to someone somewhere who mentioned that.)

Below the fold is a grab of a recent day’s report.

I like the map stuff, though I am not sure how accurate it is. I suppose for a country or state — not too finely granular regions — it’s good. The new and returning graph is good too. I’ll watch that over time and see how it goes. I realize I have a lot of drive-by action and wish I was more consistently interesting (this wish extends into the offline life as well, but we’ll leave that alone).

It would interesting to see if any of the (direct) or (other) stuff is from RSS aggregators and if it will be possible to drill into those and see what’s happening. I suspect I don’t see all that much RSS referral since I publish a full content feed.
