NPR on ‘blogs’

Just heard a short piece on NPR about “blogs” (don’t actually like the word: sounds too hip and exclusive or something).

Was struck by one remark about getting your news from weblogs was “inefficient” as if that were a bad thing. Democracy is inefficient, and for the same reasons: you get to/have to make choices and be actively engaged for it to work properly.

Interestingly, they mention the Gannon incident and webloggers’ efforts at due diligence but for some reason (prudishness?) leave out his self-documented career as a homosexual prostitute. So much to the intrusive liberal media . . .
