My recently repaired and returned iBook was acting up in a old familiar way. When it was newer, the trackpad used to manifest an annoying tendency of skipping around or refusing to move more than a fraction of an inch in any direction. Used to be resolvable by flexing the case gently or closing and opening the lid. But that gets tedious. So I managed to eke out one more warranty repair through AppleCare.
And of course, I have to play with the new toys when I go there: I didn’t notice PhotoBooth had some settings you could play with. This is the Thermal Camera setting š
The Genius took a look at the various innards under the keyboard and didn’t like the way some of the wiring was squeezed, almost crimped, in place. So they are opting to replace the top of the case and the associated wiring, in hopes this resolves the issue.
Fortunately this is a repair they do onsite, so no frequent flyer miles for this little beast.
