[T]he only conclusion I can draw is that AdSense isn’t going
to make you much money if you write about Web technologies and politics and
publish pictures of flowers and donkeys.
I am coming to much the same conclusion. I don’t even have the pictures to post (still scraping up the pennies for a Nikon Coolscan 4000) and I doubt it would make a lot of difference: they aren’t content AdSense can sell against.
Tim’s take was a little better than mine, though: he was pulling down a couple hundred dollars a month, while I’ll seeing a check (my next and final one) for $100 in about 3 months, making it about a year since the last one.
Evidently, nothing here is very interesting and what little of it is doesn’t work well with AdSense.
I have to confess the realization that I’m largely talking to myself has slowed the output down a bit. Multi-entry days are a thing of the past: even one entry a day seems like a lot.
I guess I could write a lot of stuff around hot keywords like Wimax or asbestos or outsourcing, but I don’t care about any of that.
Maybe I’ll just write about food and feeding a family, something I care about and that I’m slowly realizing I’m good at.
