Apparently, some guy registered the domain names “vw.com” and vw.net” back in the day. It’s not clear to me if Volkswagen went after it or if this guy provoked them by trying to sell vw.net. Whatever happened, VW sued him and (surprise) he lost.
What kind of delusional mind assumes, given what has happened in the world of domain name lawsuits, that they would be able to defend a claim that they had a right to the name.
And anyway, why vw.com for an enterprise called “virtual worlds”? Why not virtualworlds.com?
