OS X 10.4.10 and PPC hardware: a star-crossed pair? 2

Aaargh. I have three brutal dead-in-the-water “archive and install” crash and rebuilds on two different systems, both G4s. What the . . . ?

Annoying, to say the least.

    Huh. At the risk of jinxing it, I haven’t had any problems with 10.4.10 on either of my G4 systems. I wonder what’s up?

    Well, with practice it gets a lot easier restoring all the odds ends.

    Copy /Library/Tcl/darwinports1.0 into place, so MacPorts works properly.

    Copy over the symlinks in /Previous System 1/usr/local/bin to all the gpg binaries in /usr/local/bin so that GPGme works properly.

    Invoke defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 2 to complete the reinstall of GPGme.
