I realized I needed to make use of iTunes “Join Tracks” feature when I was listening in Party Shuffle mode and something I expected to happen didn’t. Turns out you can’t join tracks on stuff you buy from the iTunes Music Store. Things to investigate: I suppose burning a CD and importing that will make this go away but I also wonder if ripping the DRM stuff out with hymn will let me do it.
now playing: Karma Police from the album OK Computer by Radiohead | Buy it

I don’t think “Join Tracks” works on anything but CDs at the time of import. That is to say, I don’t think you can join two songs once they’re files on disk, regardless of format or origin. If you have the CD, you can import two or more tracks as one file, but I don’t think writing two tracks to a CD and re-importing them as one track will work very well; you’re probably going to get at least a very short discontinuity between the two upon re-import. If you do try this, do let us know. I’m curious now.
