This reminds me of my friend Ken’s job. As a “color stylist” at Walt Disney Feature Animation, his inputs are “root colors” and light sources while his outputs are “adjusted colors” (my terminology). For example, Goofy’s blue shirt should be painted with a certain set of colors in a scene staged around a campfire, but a different set of colors in daylight scenes. Several color stylists will typically work on a feature film.
