now with Apache2 2

Posted by paul on July 27, 2002

I decided to migrate to Apache 2. No compelling reason. I noticed that a portupgrade run had done something nasty to my existing Apache 1.3 installation and decided I’d rather switch than fight.

I think it’s more responsive but it could just be that new car smell . . . I’m sure I’ll never put it to the test.

The good news is, I can’t tell the difference. How long were you off the air?

I wasn’t off the air at all: I did all my testing on port 8080 and when it seemed to be solid, I downed the old instance on port 80 and switched the one on 8080 to port 80.

All that time at the world’s busiest web site[tm] taught me a thing or two, I suppose.
